A. Students/volunteers do not have to be associated with an organization or school in order to participate in KOTG Part 2. Students/volunteers, however, must provide their own transportation to New Orleans, LA and complete all registration forms. medical forms and liability forms in order to participate.       Q. Is the Common Ground and Voices of Katrina Student Spring Break Initiative the same as KOTG Part 2?
A. KOTG Part 2 will work in solidarity with Common Ground and Voices of Katrina. KOTG Part 2 is not organized by Common Ground or Voices of Katrina, but will provide needed volunteer aid to Common Ground and Voices of Katrina as both (Common Ground and Voices of Katrina) are members of the People's Hurricane Relief Fund which is one of the coalitions KOTG Part 2 is committed to assisting. KOTG Part 2 is a summer initiative organized by students and grassroots activists from throughout the nation including the Gulf Coast and New Orleans. Students who participate in KOTG will provide volunteer aid to four coalitions, The People's Hurricane Relief Coalition in New Orleans, LA, The Mississippi Disaster Relief Coalition in Biloxi, MS, Saving Ourselves in Mobile, AL, and The Grassroots Legal Network. Common Ground and Voices of Katrina are members of the People's Hurricane Relief Fund in New Orleans and KOTG Part 2 will work in solidarity with their efforts.
